I acquired the Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Engineering at Marche Polytechnic University (2009) and the Master Degree in Bioengineering at University of Genoa - curriculum in Neuroengineering (2012). In 2016 I got the PhD in Bioengineering at University of Genoa working as a member of the Neurolab under the supervision of Prof. Casadio, and concurrently conducting research at the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab (SRAL) as part of a collaboration between the Robotic Lab at Northwestern University and the University of Genoa, under the supervision of Prof. Mussa-Ivaldi. The PhD project was mainly carried out in Chicago. I then moved to EPFL, Switzerland, joining the TNE lab of Prof. Micera as post-doctoral fellow until 2020. Since January 2021 I am a Marie Curie post-doctoral fellow at the University of Genoa working in collaboration with Prof. Inglese at DINOGMI and Prof. Casadio at DIBRIS.

I am interested in understanding the sensory-motor system through close interaction with artificial systems. Specifically, in determining how the brain acquires, organizes and executes motor behaviors in healthy condition or after a stroke, spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis. In particular my main interests are related to motor adaptation, neurorehabilitation and body-machine interfaces.
